#COdrought news: Fountain urges conservation

From KOAA (Matt Prichard):

“Going into this year it looks good for the City of Fountain, our reservoir storage is about 80-percent, but we’ll be enacting voluntary water restrictions,” said Fountain Utilities Director, Curtis Mitchell.

The city asking residents to only water their lawns every other day, something residents feel is manageable and beneficial to their community…

And Mitchell says the more conservation they can do now the better they can manage a drought situation in the future.

“It’s still important to conserve so we have aggressive conservation programs that assist our customers with managing water usage and with managing utilities costs. We certainly continue with that regardless of how much snow we have, and how much rain we have,” said Mitchell.
