From email from Alexander Burch:
Hi John,
Today’s Coyote Gulch post on Powell rising five feet while Mead sits at the bottom is why I’m writing. I run reservoirbench.com, a free, independent site that republishes official daily gauge readings for 135 Western and Texas reservoirs (Reclamation, California DWR and the Texas Water Development Board). Every number names the gauge it came from, each reservoir’s full daily history is a plain CSV, and every page has charts and record-low context. A few pages your readers might find useful:
- Blue Mesa hit the lowest level in its daily record (back to 1965) on Oct. 19: 7,411.73 ft, about 17% full, down 51 ft in a year. https://reservoirbench.com/blue-mesa/
- Lake Mead’s record-low tracker, with each 2026 low dated (48 of them through Oct. 22): https://reservoirbench.com/lake-mead-record-low/
- All seven Colorado River system reservoirs on one page: https://reservoirbench.com/colorado-river/
It’s all free to use. If you use it, a credit or link to Reservoir Bench is all I’d ask. And if a specific cut would help, tell me and I’ll pull it.
Best,
Alex
