I charged twice between Denver and Cortez. This was the first road trip to the Colorado Plateau for the Ariya so I was cautious. My plan was to leave Denver at 100% charge, lunch and charging to 80% at Mojo’s Eatery in Salida, a boost and charge to 80% in Del Norte, then charge to 80% in Pagosa Springs for the final leg to Cortez. The Ariya range is superb, nearly 300 miles at 100% and there are CCS1 and Tesla chargers all over Colorado now!
I’ve charged at Mojo’s (ChargePoint) many times to and from the San Luis Valley. I needed the older style CHAdeMO connector and the Colorado Energy Office ChargePoint installations usually have one. With the Ariya I have access to all CCS1 and most Tesla charging installations (with an adapter). Rivian has it right, plug in your car and swipe your credit card to pay — no app required. In Pagosa Springs I charged at the Tesla installation as you head west out of town. All of the charging was very fast
Now is the time for you to electrify your transportation. Humans need to stop burning carbon to have any hope of slowing Climate Change — we owe it to the species we are wiping out.
